The Pattern Behind Your Pain & Stiffness
I know the feeling.
You stretch, you strengthen, you do your PT exercises, get adjusted, get massages…maybe even some other alternative treatments…and the pain and stiffness and feeling of “something’s just off” still won’t go away.
It’s enough to drive you crazy.
The truth is, it’s all putting the cart before the horse.
None of it works long term because it’s not addressing the root of the problem: a brain running your body through patterns that no longer work.
To change it, you have to reconnect the brain to the body through clearer sensation.
Once you can actually feel what’s going on, you can start to reorganize how your body is working.
Taking tension out of the tight, grippy and overworking areas…and redistributing it into the places that have gone dark and aren’t doing their job anymore.
Most people aren’t just “tight” or “weak” in one muscle or another.
They’re running a specific compensation pattern across multiple connected muscle groups that span the body.
These patterns are subconscious: they’re how the brain has learned to hold, shift, and move.
They work in the short term…but over time, they show up as aches, tightness, weakness, and joint stress.
Left unaddressed, they increase your risk of injury and accelerate wear and tear in the body.
These are the main patterns I see over and over again.
These aren’t the only patterns, and most people DO have some overlap. But they’re a powerful place to start.
The Spiral Shifter—always feeling a little twisted, like one side is doing more than the other.
The Rib Raiser—chest lifted, ribs flaring, tension living up top.
The Shoulder Squeezer—upper traps constantly on, shoulders doing more than they should.
The Back Bracer—gripping through the lower back, holding everything together.
The Signal Sleeper—hard to feel what’s going on at all, like parts of the body are just… offline.
Most people recognize themselves immediately or see someone they know.
That’s why I created a short quiz to help you identify your pattern and understand where to start.
It only takes about two minutes. Ready to find out?
